AIDGLOBAL held a new diversity and inclusion event for parents and children at the Lx Factory in Lisbon.
On Sunday, September 22, coinciding with European Mobility Week, at 4pm, the Ler Devagar bookshop hosted a children's activity aimed at promoting Environmental Education and strengthening ties between children from Mozambique and Portugal, based on the story of “A Formiga Juju na Cidade das Papaias”, reflecting on the effects of pollution in the city.
Formiga Juju is a civic movement promoting reading and creative expression, founded in Mozambique in February 2012. Through the publication of children's stories and the organization of educational activities, the movement promotes the spread of values such as solidarity, diversity, creativity, unity, inclusion, participation, environmental protection and citizenship.
AIDGLOBAL has embraced the Movement for its strong message, taking on the promotion of children's activities in schools and libraries. After the last readings at the Lisbon Book Fair-2013, with LeYa, this ant dressed in a capulana was once again present at the Ler Devagar bookshop, which already hosted the launch of the Movement in Portugal exactly one year ago. This time the book's author, Cristiana Pereira, was also present.
Every time Juju wakes up after washing her face, she enjoys eating a papaya. One day, however, she finds her papaya friend crying in dismay because the rain has stopped coming and the town has run out of papayas. Juju sets off on an odyssey through the town and the forest to ask the sea what happened to the rain.
