Aiming to raise awareness, mobilize, and empower around the themes of Climate Action and Gender Equality, applications must be submitted online until November 16th, by non-profit organizations wishing to intervene in the Municipality of Loures. Interested entities may apply as single applicants or in partnerships as co-applicants.
Applications must correspond to at least one of the priority areas: intersectionality (initiatives that recognize the intersection of social, economic, and environmental inequality factors), youth empowerment (supporting young people in taking on active roles in their communities), climate justice (addressing the impacts of climate change and promoting sustainable solutions), and gender justice (promoting gender equality).
Eligible initiatives should focus on local solutions and community-based actions to be carried out in Loures, integrating climate justice and gender justice. Activities may include some of the following: political advocacy for climate and gender justice, public awareness campaigns on environmental sustainability and gender equity, participatory educational events, including workshops, seminars, and festivals that promote climate action and gender equality, and innovative community projects focused on ecological preservation, eco-social transition, or sustainable practices, with an emphasis on the participation of women and young people belonging to marginalized groups.
The winning projects will be monitored by AIDGLOBAL and the Municipality of Loures, and the promoting organizations will receive support, training, and mentoring in the process of implementing their initiatives. The associations will be provided with financial resources to enable them to implement active citizenship initiatives in the target communities.
The winning projects should last around 5 months and may receive funding of €5,000.
